It’s the Little Things In Life – like painting my nails

Yes, some days are very gloomy. Even when it’s sunny out there like today. Still, for those of us who are thoughtful about life and in touch with our feelings, dark days are inevitable.

We have our rose garden this time of year and then for me, there is nail polish. I have painted my nails since I was a teenager. You can see those photos of me at an early age maybe 16 or 17 with long nails painted a stark white or a blood red. I can pinpoint how it started, with my Mom’s driving instructor back in good old communist Hungary. That woman always had long beautiful nails painted a bright yellow. I was fascinated by them. She’s long dead to be sure, but I’m still painting my nails.

Flash forward 40 years or more and today I have an impressive collection of polishes

What’s so cute is I recently found Tyler’s Trinkets

https://tylerstrinkets.com/

And For Pride this Year they have a collection called Unapologetic

Which is how I came to learn about an Organization called LAMBDA LEGAL!!

They are here: https://lambdalegal.org/

On Tyler’s Trinkets the donations to this cause are explained this way.

The Unapologetic Collection

Loud. Luminous. Limitless.

$1 from every bottle sold will be donated to Lambda Legal, an organization fighting tirelessly for LGBTQIA+ and HIV+ civil rights. A fight which is crucial, now more than ever. In a world that’s trying to dim our light — we glow harder.

The bulk of my polish collection though is from Mooncat

You can find them here:

https://www.mooncat.com/

Some of mine

Some of my “work”

Polishing my nails is a bit of self-care and luxury that is a must when life gets you down and to try to prevent the darkness rolling in.

Whatever it takes!
