A Brief History of Mental Disorder Law Conferences I’ve Hosted or co-Chaired Through Various Organizations Over the Course of a Quarter Century

There is not much in the way of a record of the very earliest years going back to 1999!! when the Law Society first hosted mental health law conferences I have co-Chaired over the last 25 years.

However, there are certainly ways to access at least some of the CLA & LAMDA co-hosted conferences over the years 2018-2022 and even a 2011 Garage Series Special on Mental Disorder Law!

Here are some ways to view these vintage gems!

First the 2011 Cooper Garage Series Mental Disorders and the Criminal Justice System

Next, the CLA and LAMDA Years – good, clean fun!

Cassandra DeMelo makes her arrival as co-Chair and never really leaves – best of friends since!!

First of these was the 3rd Annual Mental Disorder Law Conference — April 28 2018 Event

This 2018 Conference was the first co-hosted by LAMDA, as LAMDA was not created until 2017. However, by 2018 LAMDA was a co-hosting organization and that first of its kind conference on April 28, 2018 was actually titled, quite simply: “The CLA and LAMDA Mental Disorder and Criminal Justice Conference: “Beyond Fitness and NCR – Mental Health in Criminal Justice”. It was a third of something but as it turned out, also a first of something else, something new that would endure.

The Agenda and Speakers for that 2018 Conference are Still available here:
