Looking for a new articling student to start in mid-May and we are likely going to have a second position starting in August – we are aiming to make all hiring decisions now, so please apply for either position.
We offer a very high level litigation boutique law firm environment dedicated to mental health law, tribunal level administrative law and appellate litigation at all levels including the Court of Appeal and Supreme Court of Canada, Inquests and related fun stuff.

Contact our firm at anita@asabarristers.com with a copy to our student heidy@asabarristers.com and our legal assistant at leanne@asabarristers.com
Please send a cover letter, CV, writing sample, and transcripts (unofficial is fine) by 5 pm on WEDNESDAY APRIL 19, 2023 to all three email addresses.
Our firm welcomes applications from candidates in all equity-seeking groups, from internationally trained lawyers and in particular those with lived experience of mental health or addictions issues.

Here is a nice testimonial from one of our last 14 articling students, the wonderful Ankita Puri
Can proudly attest that working here will be one of the best experiences of your life! I miss the team everyday. Anita is a brilliant advocate and every hearing you attend will be a learning experience. Come for the work, stay for the humour. The position is almost entirely remote, focused on research, Memo preparation, client interviews and review of medical / mental health records. You’ll be working on all files for Anita and our associate lawyers. The position is paid. We are a legal aid practice supporting vulnerable clients in mental health crisis and generally detained in psychiatric facilities. Our work is sometimes urgent, but hours are otherwise flexible.
