What a beautiful, warm, and fun evening held in person at the stunningly beautiful Osgoode Hall home of the Court of Appeal for Ontario.

Hosted by the Court, this program offers opportunities for mentorship and feedback by seasoned expert practitioners who do criminal appeals – both defence and Crowns and ultimately, on mooting day, from Justices, including from the Court of Appeal.

The event kicked off on January 12, 2023 with welcoming remarks by the ACJO and a speech from the venerable Marie Henein, advocacy demonstration by the eloquent and thoughtful Nader Hassan.

The formal part of the evening also included remarks by the organizers of the program, Dena Bonnet of Crown Law Office Criminal, Anna Trbovich, staff lawyer at the Court and me.

Mooter / mentees and moot coach mentors were in attendance together with Justice of the Court and everyone had an opportunity to connect in person.

Wonderful to see the engagement with the program by all and the camaraderie and professional connections already being made.
We will be looking forward to Moot Day on Jan 28!!
Here are some nice pics taken by others of some of my most cherished colleagues at the event.
