I am conducting some research regarding the incidence of sexual harassment and sexual assault in the practice of criminal defence including law students studying in the area.
The first stage of this study is restricted to those who identify as women or gender diverse lawyers or law students.
There will be a follow-up study specifically looking at the experiences of men.
For the earliest set of data gathered to date please see:
If you would like to participate in this study, you have the opportunity to do so now if you are eligible.
NOTE: To receive the survey you do have to indicate your name and email address and confirm your eligibility to participate – however no data will ever be linked to these identifiers and the identity of participants in the research will never be known, including to the researcher.
The survey itself does not require your name, email or identifiers. Survey results will be completely anonymous and any comment you make is absolutely confidential.
Data will be used and released in the aggregate only.
Here is the link to request access to the Survey itself, which will be sent to you in about a week, once all requests to participate are processed.
This application takes about 10 seconds to complete.

This Survey is being rolled out to various organizations’ members in stages – if you have already completed the survey when you received it through another organization, please DO NOT complete it again.
As perhaps an aside, it is encouraging to note the current level of interest in our preliminary survey results, which have been accessed and reviewed by hundreds of colleagues already.
I am hopeful that the high level of engagement is indicative of our collective interest in addressing and eradicating sexual harassment and assault in the daily working lives of criminal lawyers.
I appreciate the interest in this important issue and your time and candour in participating, should you choose to do so.
Thank you!
Anita
