The Criminal Lawyers’ Association publishes a quarterly magazine of academic articles and commentary, called For the Defence.
The August 2022 Edition – Volume 42 No 2 focuses on Truth and Reconciliation and the representation of Indigenous clients in the criminal justice system.
There are fantastic articles on representing Indigenous clients, Gladue principles and going on circuit in the NWT I encourage everyone to read. Thanks to the incredible Shaunna Kelly, Naomi Sayers and Robin Parker for their amazing contributions. I have been so fortunate to work with each of these fabulous women as a member of the CLA’s Indigenous Committee for many years, including under Shaunna’s skilled leadership during the time she served as Chair of the Committee previously.
