Valentine’s Day 2026 is a bit Early – but lovely

A rare personal post because I took a rare personal moment.

When you’re this old, Valentine’s Day is done a day early and reservations are made for 5:30 – I always think of the Early Bird Special in that Seinfeld episode………eventually we’ll be having dinner for breakfast.

I also almost never drink alcohol – not because of any philosophical opposition or health reason, it’s just a substance with which I don’t have a particularly problematic relationship. Happy to drink socially, rarely when I socialize and then forget about it – one time for six years!

But this was a lovely meal out celebrating 30+ years together, laughing and eating.

We have a neighbourhood place now we quite love so they were happy to see us and we them.

Every once in a while you have to stop and smell the roses or eat them ’cause eventually edible flowers showed up in my cocktail – here’s to long lasting love and family – even on a corporate holiday.
