LAMDA’s ORB Training Video Series Launches – August 2025 – New content on our new YouTube channel

Anita Szigeti, Maya Shukairy, Robert Cunningham and Shira Brass

Following on the success of our short CCB Training CPD sessions, now available on our YouTube channel here:

LAMDA’s CCB Training Video Series – 2024

LAMDA is now rolling out short videos (10-15 minutes each) focusing on one issue at a time, to support defence counsel representing unfit or NCR accused persons before the Ontario Review Board.

This is just the beginning of a LONG series of bite-sized videos about ORB work.

Defence counsel so often struggle with this work.

I’d rather you send the work to me, but if you wanna do it yourself, I want to ensure you do it right.

Maya Shukairy hosts this program and we have experts in review board litigation from across the province joining us.

Speaking alongside me are Shira Brass and Rob Cunningham. So far.

We are highlighting Regional Differences in Review Board practices depending on the habits, let’s say, of forensic psychiatric facilities across Ontario. Our guest speakers reflect that regional disparity.

Shira Brass focuses her ORB practice in Ottawa and Rob Cunningham represents accused at St. Thomas. We welcome your interest if your expertise pertains to other facilities, such as Thunder Bay or Kingston for instance. Let us know if you want to join a segment. MANY, many more will follow.

Keep an eye out and subscribe or check regularly for new episodes in the coming weeks / months:

You can find all the videos in this Playlist here:

LAMDA’s ORB Training Video Series – 2025

Each 10 – 15 minute video addresses exactly ONE point or issue or procedural thing.

We’re going chronologically and starting with what happens immediately in the wake of the NCR Verdict.

So please join us for the absolute discharge celebration in about 10-15 years.
