Taking its rightful place amidst the building Szigeti library here at the house, it really must be front and centre as the absolutely biggest of them all, and without a doubt the most comprehensive.

NOTHING, but NOTHING, could have made me happier than receiving the physical volume of this labour of love, as so many of us did on Friday, September 27, 2024.

It is a BIG BABY all right! Much bigger and frankly heavier, than I expected. A substantial TOME.
A colleague was first to get hers delivered off the truck from the printers on Friday morning. She texted a photo of it in her hand right away. Here she is:

A few hours later, the box was at my door – I had waited six months or more for this moment.
Someone else had to cradle it in their hand after my first try with it……

Here is why:

WHY SO BIG??
The book is thicker than our 20th Anniversary CCB Guide even though it is only perhaps 200 pages longer – the main reason is the quality of the paper used for this special volume. It is thick, white, classy stuff – and I gather for all those reasons, which make for a much more pleasant reading experience, heavier.

This is the side by side comparison – the difference between 980 pages (the CCB Guide) and 1172 pages (CAMHL) – but the physical difference is a lot more substantial – amounting to effectively double the difference – 400, rather than 200 pages. Because of the superb quality of the paper…….

HOW / WHERE / WHY TO BUY CAMHL
Surprisingly large as the physical volume may be, its heft does not take away from, nor does it outweigh the gravitas of the contents. The 50 Chapters in this book are substantial in the depth and breadth of their contribution, and priceless in their unique insights. Speaking of price, one of our brilliant contributing authors points out that even with the $200 price tag, which also seems hefty at first, ultimately that’s $4 a chapter, well worth the price of admission.
Here is where you can learn more about the book and order the print copy:

The great news for students is that there is a much cheaper way to get both the print and the student e-versions online at substantial savings here:

In further other good news, LexisNexis has decided to include CAMHL as part of their Academic Consortia packages. It should therefore be available to law schools through for example a Lexis+ Nexis Uni Premium subscription, if that has been purchased by the school.

As perhaps an aside, though not really, my co-Editors will attest to the fact that by day’s end all I really cared about was this:

CAMHL completes a circle of 5 for now – sitting tallest, strongest, prettiest and most colourful – for now – because there’s more to come – no doubt about that – and as always I’ll look forward to it all!

Here is a mock-up by a colleague I think looks pretty great!
