Returning to My Alma Mater to Teach Mental Health Law – U of T – Faculty of Law

It’s been a true privilege over the last number of years to guest lecture in the mental health law course of Professor Trudo Lemmens at the University of Toronto’s Faculty of Law.

Here is this amazing class of all women students (but one!) – what an amazing group of talent, pictured here, with Professor Lemmens in the new building and posted with their consent.

I always get a real kick out of returning to my own law school, where our Dean at the time, Robert Pritchard famously called my year “academic disappointments” and the “dumbest class ever.” We got T-shirts made and wore them as badges of honour. Feels pretty great having proven Dean Pritchard wrong – I still have the T-shirt by the way…….

This was my Small Group Home Room – Torts with Denise Reaume – in Falconer Hall at the U of T

I returned to teach in this room a few years ago

I’m just thrilled to have the opportunity and the honour to teach mental health law as a Guest Lecturer and also Trial Advocacy in the fall – I’ve been doing both for at least eight years now and love it. My beautiful school, filled with memories, and not even a little bit dumb.
