February 22, 2022 is a busy day for Anita …… Crisis Training, Empathy Podcast, Stalking Panel….Clients!

This morning I have the privilege of participating on a legal / inquest panel in training Community Crisis Support workers who will be attending crisis calls in Toronto’s pilot projects featuring mobile crisis services, without police. My thanks to the Gerstein Centre for involving me in this important work. Also, if you’ve not read this piece by Yusuf Faqiri about his brother’s tragic death, I commend it to you. It is important and Yusuf is a powerful, inspiring speaker. This is a very moving piece:

This afternoon, I am honoured to appear as a Guest on Anita Nowak’s Podcast on Purposeful Empathy, a topic very close to my heart and something that occupies much of my time reflecting on the state of the world today.

This evening, I am moderating and contributing, for the first time, my own story about Online Targeted Harassment of Lawyers, during a panel that Explores the Tension between Professional Responsibility and Personal Safety. I am proud to offer this panel to lawyers through LAMDA and WiCCD co-hosting jointly.

In between there, some hearings, and the true honour and privilege of representing vulnerable clients in crisis. Up at 4 am to get ready for this day! Wish me well with it.
