LAMDA CLOC ONCA SECOND BENCH AND BAR ZOOM ADVOCACY CONFERENCE FOR THE CRIMINAL APPELLATE BAR – JAN 27 2022

What a beautiful evening this was.

LAMDA and CLOC co-hosted this Bench and Bar virtual Advocacy event for the 2nd year in a row.

During these difficult pandemic times, and especially while the Omicron surge is upon us, we have all been struggling.

To be able to sit informally with the Chief Justice and Associate Chief Justice of Ontario together with four other Justices of the Court of Appeal for Ontario, was a unique and special privilege.

We discussed ‘Transitions’ – from written to oral advocacy, from in person to Zoom appeals and from mistakes to recovery.

We are all eternally grateful to the Justices for their generosity in sharing their wisdom with us so openly in such a collegial forum.

Anna Trbovich (ONCA Staff lawyer – Facilitator), Associate Chief Justice Fairburn, Justice Trotter, Justice Paciocco, Justice Pardu and Justice Zarnett of the Ontario Court of Appeal, LAMDA CLOC ONCA CONFERENCE Jan 27, 2022

We all learned a great deal. We laughed together.

The entire experience was invaluable and unforgettable.

Grateful as well to ONCA staff lawyer Anna Trbovich, who facilitated the panel and Dena Bonnet of CLOC who co-hosted. Both worked so hard to make this event as successful as it was.
