What a beautiful evening this was.
LAMDA and CLOC co-hosted this Bench and Bar virtual Advocacy event for the 2nd year in a row.
During these difficult pandemic times, and especially while the Omicron surge is upon us, we have all been struggling.
To be able to sit informally with the Chief Justice and Associate Chief Justice of Ontario together with four other Justices of the Court of Appeal for Ontario, was a unique and special privilege.
We discussed ‘Transitions’ – from written to oral advocacy, from in person to Zoom appeals and from mistakes to recovery.
We are all eternally grateful to the Justices for their generosity in sharing their wisdom with us so openly in such a collegial forum.

We all learned a great deal. We laughed together.
The entire experience was invaluable and unforgettable.
Grateful as well to ONCA staff lawyer Anna Trbovich, who facilitated the panel and Dena Bonnet of CLOC who co-hosted. Both worked so hard to make this event as successful as it was.

100+ appellate lawyers and articling students & clerks attended from PPSC, CLOC, CLA, LAMDA, WICCD and the PBIA program.

This Program is formally entitled: Second Bench and Bar Zoom Advocacy Conference for the Criminal Appellate Bar. The Service Providers are LAMDA & CLOC. The program received accreditation from the Law Society of Ontario for 2 full hours (and zero minutes) of Professionalism CPD.
Only those who pre-registered for the event and attended can claim the CPD accreditation.
A video recording of the event is now available, upon request to LAMDA at lamda.exec@gmail.com or to CLOC. Access to the recording will be granted to counsel, articling and law students otherwise eligible as members of the professional organizations identified above, on condition that recipients agree they will not further share or publish in whole or in part any portion of the program.
