Mad Pride Tea Party – Lunacy, Laws and Lawyers July 10 2013

Taking a little trip down Memory Lane.

Here is the text of a speech I gave at an event to celebrate 20 years of “Mad Pride.”

It was a speech that made some people quite angry and other people very happy.

What was so interesting about it is lots of staff were in attendance and grateful to hear issues raised in ways they agreed with but felt, because of their role, they could not themselves address within the institution.

This was more than seven years ago now. Many things have changed. Some remain the same.

This was but a snapshot in time and the views are only my own.

Here is the link to the Speech.

And some PICS:

This by the way is my “RED DEVIL” hat – what staff at one hospital named me years ago. A badge of honour I assume I got because I have red hair.
