Endorsement for Anita Szigeti by Mercedes Perez

I first met Anita following my call to the Ontario bar in 2003.  I had started practising at a small Toronto firm that specializes in mental health law and had also joined the Mental Health Legal Committee (MHLC).  Anita has been a friend, a mentor and an inspiration.  I have always been impressed by her energy, intelligence, and unwavering principled commitment to her clients.  She is a tremendous support to young lawyers entering the practice of mental health law and actively offers encouragement and freely shares her vast knowledge and experience. Anita runs a small but busy law firm, volunteers an enormous amount of time to the work of the MHLC, and is mother to two young children. Nonetheless, she has always found time to respond to my countless requests for assistance, many sent in anxious fashion at the eleventh hour.  I have been lucky to have acted as co-counsel with Anita and to have co-authored an academic article with her.  Both experiences were invaluable learning opportunities.  Anita  approaches problems, issues and causes with a steady hand, much wisdom, and a good dose of wit.  I endorse her candidacy for Law Society Bencher without any hesitation.
